In my role as a volunteer guide at Ripon Cathedral it is a privilege and a pleasure to regularly share my knowledge of the cathedral with our visitors and answer their questions. I am also a member of the team who provide guided tours for visiting groups. We are delighted to welcome visitors from many parts of the British Isles and beyond our shores.
As a result of a request for a talk about the cathedral to a group who were unable to visit in person we decided to create an illustrated presentation, with accompanying talk, that can be used when a guide is invited to speak to clubs, societies and groups who express an interest in the history and life of the cathedral today.
In the production of such a presentation, which we are calling ‘Ripon Cathedral – The Story’ I enjoyed collaborating with photographer Joe Priestley. Following the first showing of the presentation and talk a member of the audience remarked that they were now aware that Ripon Cathedral was “an undiscovered treasure”.
If you are a member of a group that would be interested in this illustrated talk ‘Ripon Cathedral – The Story’ please contact Ripon Cathedral Office (01765 603462). We would be delighted to arrange a presentation at a venue of your choice, or at the cathedral.
