The celebrated Christian theologian and former Bishop of Oxford, the Right Reverend John Pritchard, will be leading  worship throughout Holy Week at Ripon Cathedral.

The Very Reverend John Dobson, Dean of Ripon Cathedral, said, “Bishop John is an internationally renowned Christian teacher, who has written widely, helping many ordinary Christians to better understand the faith and live it out more effectively. We encourage people from across the region to join us in sharing Holy Week with us.”

Bishop John will be begin his week in residence when he preaches at the Palm Sunday service (Sunday 9th April, 10.30am). Before the service, the congregation will process through the City into the Cathedral with palm leaves in commemoration of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

Bishop John will also be leading addresses entitled ‘That was the week that was – and is, and ever will be’ from Monday 10th – Wednesday 12th April at 7.30pm in Ripon Cathedral. The addresses will be followed by compline.
