The popular annual Cathedral Christmas fair returns for another successful year.
Ripon Cathedral will host its popular Christmas Gift and Food Fair on Saturday 26 November 2016.
Celebrate the festive season at Ripon Cathedral Christmas gift and Food Fair in the spectacular setting of Ripon Cathedral. Now in its fourteenth successful year, the fair is bigger and more popular than ever.
Hosting a range of festivities including hot turkey sandwiches and mulled wine, musical entertainment throughout the day including local choirs, visit Santa in his Grotto as well as over 100 stalls offering gifts and food helping you find that perfect present, all within the beautiful setting of Ripon Cathedral.
Traders at the fair also include local food producers offering preserves, baked goodies, oils, local cheeses, fine liqueurs and sweet treats. Other stalls include handmade jewellery, clothing, art, crafts and other exclusive gifts that cannot be found on the high street to help you find that perfect gift this Christmas.
We are also delighted to welcome Holly Holder, a blind visual artist who ‘Uses art to escape blindness & express herself through her art.’ Her work will be available to buy during the fair.
Campaign Assistant and Fair Organiser Carolyn Sands Says ‘We are looking forward to welcome Holly Holder to the Cathedral for what looks to be another exciting and busy Christmas fair.’
There will also be a number of festival stalls at The Old Deanery including jewellery, sweets as well as local author Emma Warner-Reed who will be doing a special book signing of her latest children’s books ‘The Dotty Series’ in the Old Deanery throughout the day.
‘I have also had some special edition paperback copies of DOTTY and the Very Lucky Day printed, which will be exclusive to the event, together with some really fun merchandising.’ Explains Emma Warner Reed.
‘And I will even have some signed copies of the first two MAGORA series books on offer, flown all the way over from Germany especially for the occasion, so you’ll need to get in quickly if you want one!’
The money raised from the Christmas Gift and Food Fair goes towards the Ripon Cathedral Renewed Project – the new development plans for a 21st Century Yorkshire Cathedral.
We are asking for any keen bakers to donate Christmas Cakes for the Cathedral to sell at the fair. These are always very popular and sell out on the day, and help to raise much needed funds. Please contact Carolyn Sands if you are willing to support us.
The Christmas Gift and Food Fair will take place on Saturday 26 November from 10.00am until 4.30pm at Ripon Cathedral and the Old Deanery Hotel across the road of the Cathedral. Entry is £2.50 and tickets can be purchased on the door.
