On Armistice Day, Saturday 11 November, we are thrilled to be hosting no fewer than four choirs for an evening of beautiful choral music and reflective readings for Remembrance Day entitled Bring Him Home.

The Cambridge Chamber Consort, run by Ruth and Rev Dan Sladden, makes a welcome return. The British chamber choir is made up almost entirely of Cambridge Choral Scholars who have sung together in different choral groups for over 25 years and was formed by Rev Dan and his wife Ruth back when they were choral scholars at adjoining colleges in Cambridge.

The consort is joined by the Dishforth Militiary Wives Choir, which always sells out its Thursday lunchtime concerts and the popular Yorkshire Decibelles. The fourth choir in the mix is the Chapter House Youth Choir of York which includes several Ripon chorister alumni. The programme includes Allegri’s sublime Miserere Mei, Barber’s Agnus Deiand Elgar’s Lux Aeterna. Tickets are available on the door, in the Ripon Cathedral Giftshop or online here.
