One suggestion which came out of the Cathedral Consultation process was to introduce Taize services. The first of these is on Friday 5th June at 8pm.
At this time of year, it is still light at that time, though the light streams in through the stained glass windows from a different direction to that which people normally experience in the Cathedral. And so, in this fading light on Friday evening, this service aims to be a thoughtful, prayerful way to end the working week.
The Cathedral Music Group will lead the singing which will feature Taize chants which may be well-known to some people already, but which in any case are gently repetitive and easy to pick up. The service is fairly short, and aims for beautiful simplicity. All welcome.
